Could Least Killifish/Dwarf Livebearer (Heterandria formosa) be used for aquaponics? They do better with plants in the rearing tank and they may not be produce enough ammonia, so I want your opinion.

Hi jacayers,

I'd have to say no - Least Killifish need still or very sluggishly-moving water. They'd be very unhappy in the conditions you get in aquaponic systems (lots of water movement, pH lower than they prefer), and they also aren't really community fish - it's suggested they not be kept in large groups, so you wouldn't get enough ammonia production to grow much at all, if anything. :dontknow:
