Dear all,

How about a large diameter say 300 mm pvc/hdpe pipe with holes spaced along the top, as an alternative to the usual DWC grow canals and FRs ?? Just like the NFT pipes but much bigger for DWC with holes for netted pots. Additional Air stones at specific distances as usual.
No construction of grow canals and No styrofoam floating rafts too ! Just long and big pvc/hdpe pipes as canals for fast moving nutrient rich water.

This may seem stupid as i am a newbie; but Please do help with your comments..

I did a similar thing for strawberries. Worked well until roots clogged the way and water was all pumped out. I'll do it again in the new place.

I used 4" pvc pipe and cut holes for net pots. Maybe different idea than what you are thinking.

Should be fine, the larger diameter will help with preventing blockages that seem to occur in 90-100mm.
I think those using sewer pipe of around 150mm plus on the forum do OK.
On the flip side 300mm is a large pipe, may be able to get away with 150-200mm.

Depends on your situation but I don't think you will need airstones if the water is flowing, even at a slow rate.
In a round pipe situation you can just make use of the baskets and air gap by only half filling.
