Post subject:  IBC tote leaks at bulkhead?

I've got a tote like the one pictured here. https://www.ntotank.com/275gallon-nto-w ... k-x2008473

It seems like there was a screw on cap and a seal that was punctured. But with the valve all the way closed it still leaks a tiny bit, like a 3 inch sized pool or water under the spout each morning. What is the best way to fix this? Is there a cap or plug that will do? Or will the pressure from all the water make it seep through those also?

Thanks.

Best to drain it and caulk with aquarium silicone for best seal. Every one of my ibc's leaked on arrival but with a bit of silicone they are all proofed.

I used a PVC fitting with some Teflon tape on one of mine and it worked.

eBay direct from china has IBC connector to 50mm (and other sizes).
Usually less than A$10 and much cheaper than Australia suppliers.
(edit: not sure about stateside prices - but you guys should also get eBay China direct option)

You can then just put a PVC cap on it.

else the other option is to make a bung of some appropriate material using a hole saw of appropriate size.
something that needs a love tap or two from a mallet will work best.
(keep in mind that water will sit between the ball valve and the bung, but it wont be under any pressure provided the valve is kept in the closed position).

biggest hassles with HDPE is that it doesn't glue or silicone very well.
