I currently have a standard 10g aquarium with a 2.5 gallon aquarium, that is drilled for a drain, acting as the grow bed. I'd like something in the 4 gallon range, and can't find any containers I really like for a good price, so I figured I'd try and DIY. I was thinking.. -plywood, so I could drill away with ease -coated in epoxy, for water sealant -perhaps a glass side to monitor water level and worms in the grow bed. What do you all think? |

Welcome to the forum Karcus Sounds interesting, most people just use a liner for the plywood box and don't have a window. I know epoxy gets used to waterproof boats but I'm not sure about toxicity or the quality of the waterproof seal under these conditions .Cheers |

I used plastic boxes from Ikea. Search for 'Samla' on the ikea website. They are 15x11". The 3gal box is 5.5" tall and is $3. The 6 gallon version is 11" tall and is $5. There are a couple other sizes too. I found that these look nice and the price is right. |
