Ive got an 8m wide , rendered brick wall which I want to use as the back of a new pond , the growbeds are going to be mounted on the wall with metal racks . Im concerned that even though the pond itself will be lined , the wall above it will not , thus any rain will was straight down into the pond .

I rendered the wall myself and the scars on my hands show just how much lime was in that render , I NEED to seal it with something , as Im gonna be eating these fishies eventually .

Does anyone know of any good pond sealer / cement sealer that can be used , and is food safe . I was thinking Bondcrete , but havent looked into the technical specs yet . Im hoping maybe some people here have just went ahead and sealed cement with some product & let me know to save endless trawling through different websites & technical sheets.

I dont mind re-sealing every year or so , the main concern is that it keeps out all the chemicals , along with the strong blue pigment , that was put in the render

PM member "creative1" Boris..... C1 makes his living doing that sort of thing....

Boris the makers of bondcrete also make a product called silasec it is used to seal concrete tanks and is ok for both fish and potable water.you mix it with portland cement and they recommend three coats at 24 hour intervals.

Boris i dont know how to add a link but if you google bondall products you will find it under waterproofing dont use the product "pondtite " as it is not suited for drinking water
