I'm going to say this looks most like magnesium but could be a bit of both. Have you been adding a lot of potassium to the system?

I added 30g of potassium about a month ago my system is 2 500l

If not deficiency then it may be heat/sun. We have been hammered over here and get a bit of browning off particularly in tomatoes.

I am wondering about giving my AP a dose of trace elements (along with potash).
I got some Manutec soluble multi-mineral trace elements from Bunnings for $9.90.
Initially for the citrus and bits in my real garden and wicking beds.

But I am wonderng at giving it a go in the AP grow beds as a 'foliar' spray (via watering can).
It contains balanced doses of Sulphur, calcium, magnesium, manganese, boron, iron, copper, zinc, molybdenum.
(mainly as sulphates, carbonate and chelate).

Suspect I will use at quarter or half strength if I decide to give it ago.

my system is slightly acidic and I dont have calcium issues (actually have a low level and occasionally lime anyway).

Obviously will still need the potassium via soluble potash plus iron (via EDTA snail pellets at present).
and my other needs are pretty much addressed by B&B with potash and the odd crushed dynamic lifter direct to GB.

thanks for your input dlf but not sure about the sun as its only the older leaves. could the sun affect just them? it has been pretty hot here.

anyone know what is a safe amount of epsom salts to put in to see if it improves things?

looks like rain is expected for the next 2 days might have to wait before I can foliar spray, but will see what the weather does in the morning.

seems to be case, and often branches with ripening fruit on them in case of cherry tomato bushes (usually fruit and new growth is fine). Mostly like you #2 and #3 photo but also couple further down in the grass. I have vetiver grass and it sort of does the same thing after a hot spell.
Have similar sorts of leaf issues (apart from the really obvious vein one) on other fruiting veg in the garden (not AP). Mainly ones in full afternoon sun rather than part-shade and it happens pretty quick. Once we start hitting multi-days of 30+ in Perth shade is pretty much essential IMO and the heat knocks a lot of things around particularly when trapped between fence and house with pavers etc.

the description of yellowing between the leaf veins seems to fit the Magnesium Sulphate description though.

[edit] had some rhubarb going well in a mini-wicking pot and couple days of 30+ heat other week suddenly had leaves yellowing and looking sick. Moved it to a afternoon shaded location under citrus and it is now going great guns. Similar had to move a few tomatoes that had been in full sun during spring.

On the epsom salts - Do not over apply and don't use on bright sunny days - this can cause leaf scorch. Might want to apply just before evening sets in.

I put 37g in 2 liters of water sprayed over 14 plants. should I re apply in a week if nothing changes?

Yes, that should be long enough to see some results. If things look better but aren't back quite where you expect, you may want to give it till week two before the second spray (on the off chance that the change isn't finished from the first go around).
