Well firstly a Hiya :D from me. I stumbled apon this forum by accident & already I'm hooked! I've spent the past couple of weeks lurking & now planning a new system for the spring...

Would love to hear from any UK aquaponicers - what materials/suppliers are you using, what fish is good, what are you growing, going for year round or just seasonal...?

Please post a link to your thread or some pics for us to have a nose at

Hiya numberwang, and welcome....

You have a fellow Welshman about to setup an AP system.....

In fact he just posted today..... have a look at the thread. Maybe contact (PM) him and have a chat.

Don't let that discourage you. There's plenty of support from all over the world, even if some of us do speak English funny. ;)

Yup. Janet's right. If you let it discourage you, it'll only discourage the next Pommy who want to try. We all need pioneers.

Welcome Numberwang
You are in the right place to learn anything and everything about aqua. There is no greater place than this for learning with some of the greatest minds in the world of aqua. I won't tell you which ones they are as I am sure they will tell you themselves.

Where are you in Wales,we are on Anglesey at the top end and we are just about to construct a fairly large aquaponic system so if we can help ask away. The pm site and website are also there. Over to you and happy Christmas.

Cheers guys! You guys in the colonies getting on ok without us?! ;)

We're near Cardiff. Got a lot of work to do (level back yard!) before we get started, but soaking up as much info as possible.

Prob starting with a smallish proof of concept with a few goldfish - nothing grand! Maybe more fancy fish later on...

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all :)
