i am concerned at the amount of solid waste that will settle on the bottom of the fish tank wont this cause the water to go bad and kill the fish |

If you have a pump that can handle the solids they would most likely get pulverized when they pass through to the growbeds |

Auto, welcome to the forum, not sure on how you intend setting up your system but some of us have gone with venturi drains located centrally in a round tank...this removes all fish and food waste to the grow beds. These pics may give you a bit of an idea of what I mean Venturi drain parts - central down pipe and outer covering pipe Water pumped into tank to provide a swirling motion Look at 2nd picture for more clarity, bottom of tank clear of any crap Solids get sucked up and out of fish tank |

the fish themselves will kick up the solids and allow the pump to remove them, trust me! When i had the trout in the spa there were NO solids in there, now that the tank is fallow there is a deep layer of solids that i kick up with a net every few days. (the solids come from the main tank and settle out. |

'Fallow' - not a word I have heard in many a year. Do farmers even continue the practise of fallow paddocks anymore or is it all just fixed with more chemicals? |

Don't forget just preEdison and post Darkages was the candle era :-) That sort of murky half light time, when stuff got done, and bad stuff at night :-) Just enough light to make the darkness all that blacker. |

and the reason stuff was done on a moon lite night... something we forget when living in the city, the stars and moon have a greater effect when away from the lights because we can still see things at night in the bush. |

Ah yes in the time of Candel-arbra the high preist of the Candle era who would reccomend snuff at night so as not to sleep with a light on, thus to snuff some one out was a post natal term lol Ok gone a bit silly no time for sleepies |
