Post subject:  Production Time

I am curious if anybody has done growth for extended times in controlled conditions and how long? Say like tomatos or something how long they produce for.

Joel was measuring tomato output from one plant for a while, but was having to beat back the rats, so I guess it wasn't very controlled.

In a hydroponic setup it is not uncommon for a tomato plant to have a life span of 12 months from seed to elimination with an average production of 30-35 lbs of tomatoes in that time.

I am figuring 9 months with 20-25 lbs per plant as my environment will not be controlled. That is the theory anyway.

I put in cherry, roma and grosse lisse on 15 July, so far they have travelled along one side of the GH and looking at starting to train them back down the other - they are all producing well (so that's getting close to 5 months with no stopping them)
