I'm sorry Hunter, what do you mean? Gravel from different locations is going to be different colours. |

oh right, are you trying for the cheapest gravel around? granitic rocks would be cheap and grey. If you can only get white or black (or you are going for an aesthetically pleasing look) I'd probably go for the white gravel for it's reflectivity. Welcome to the forum |

Blue metal Hunter (basalt granite).... whereas your "white" rocks could be "limestone" granite, and the "black" rocks could be scoria.... And welcome to the forum |

There's a reddish "pea" granite that some people use (and I think a red scoria).... if it's the red round balls you mean then that's called "hydroton" and is actually an expanded clay..... full of air bubbles and much lighter than gravel.... lot more expensive as well, but easier on the hands. |

u look so happy Blue metal, as Rupert said, is a grey granite gravel, usually used in road building (before the bitumen). Blue metal would probably be your cheapest option. Also, screened river gravel 10-15mm is good too, often cheap as well. Thanks, I am mostly happy
