Hi highwaycruiser, I'm also in the gong. about to setup a small system over christmas (1 bath & low sticked IBC). This is in preparation for a larger system 4500L tank to be installed in Feb at my in-laws at Wallacia. |

Hey Skygazer... thought you were out on a farm out Western Sydney way... So the farm at Wallacia is the relo's place.... any idea when you might be getting the system there together? Seems to be a few members lately between Nowra and Newcastle.... Think I feel an AP meet coming on somewhere along the lines.... |

Wow, looks like all your lurking has been beneficial. Got a great design together there mate, and have taken all the principles (including safety) into account. Can't fault the concept. Are you going to buy a pre-made tank with perspex window or are you planning to make one yourself? |

Hey G'day Highway cruiser! n00b here as well hey. Based a bit further north tho, but just not quite barra weather. Awesome setup tho, def very 1337! Espec luv the shed climate control. Your gonna have barra for dinner before ya know it! The lockable water tank gets rid of the need for a fence and ya buried plumbing will make it a nice garden to walk around. What are you going to use for shed flooring? and are you going to build a shed over it or add it to an existing shed? Anyway gotta join ya in dishing out some kudo's. Only been here a little while and the sheer amount of clever little tricks people have posted is insane. Big cheers to you all. I like McGuyver style fish keeping. If ya can build it yourself then you get a good idea of how it works and how it needs to be better. |

g'day don, ive just got the plans back from councel for the shed, it will be concrete floor, just like a huge car garage, all the out flow pipes will be insulated with r2 insulation batts, like in roofing stuff, set in the concrete floor, which will create a thermal barrier, in-turn helping control water temp, clogging wont be an issue due to the size of the pipes, and nothing a plumbers snake wont fix.... ive put alot of thought into the desighn and dont wanna take any short cuts just to show i got a system running, wanna do it right the first time.and yeah, controling the heating inside the shed will also help controlling temp in the main tank, ie: less heat in the tank, equals less electricity, the whole system is desighned to keep electricity cost down in the long run with maximum efficency... |
