Welcome Charles, there will be a few Victorians on later (maybe even a Geelong supporter or 2) to help you out

Hi Charles, I am in Geelong and we haven't even thought about sobering up yet!
Many varied systems to look at in Melbourne. You planning on using ponds, tanks, greenhouses, what's the go joe? Diamond Creek is bludda cold. so forget about warm water stuff unless you plan on keeping them inside and have a few bucks for heating. Silvers will handle cold winter temps and put on a kilo in farm dams in 12 months. Too cold for jades, sleepies, barra etc. If you need a fish supply contact, just sing out.
Best of luck and keep us informed.

High Charles,

Welcome.

There are more different types of systems in Melbourne than there are active members (I've got two). It all depends on your space, your budget and your scrounging ability. But I guess mostly it's our hobby, and most of us are not afraid to try different things. Sometimes they work. sometimes they don't. In the memorable words of Ned Kelly, 'Such is life".

Probably a good place to start is to have a look at picture gallery under member's system section. With an appropriate bribe, Earthbound managed to get a three picture spread of many of the different system configurations, grouped by fish tank size.

And of those will willingly answer questions about what they have.

So have fun

gg
