Our family (2 adults, 2 young children) eats one meal of fish per week (total of 12-16oz or .3-.5kg of fillets). Right now that is mostly from the grocery. As the tilapia mature, I hope to provide most of that from the AP system at 1-2 fish per meal. |

I was wondering how large of system i'd need to build to support eating the fish as well as the veggies and fruits. im excited about having my own stock of crawdads (its what we call em from where i was born) |

If you aim to eat 1kg of fish/week... that's two 500gm plate sized serves... then you need to produce 50kg of fish per year.... 100 plate sized fish... given that some are eaten through the process and you restock at least once a year, then over the year you're probably looking at around 200 fish.... staggered through the year. As long as you have the capacity in your system to deal with the bio-mass of the fish |

how large of a stock tank would i need to purchase for that many fish? (im absolutely inlove with those corrigated galvinized metal tanks i see some people have. are those prefab purchased or homemade from large storm pipe? |

Around 400-500gal, (1500 - 2000ltr), would be really safe.... Most of the corrugated tanks here in Australia are custom made to order |
