There's a photo comp? Cool! Not that I want to win, I just like showing people photos Can I edit please mods? If I get organised I'll keep some nice ones here but move the others somewhere else. I'll leave the captions up here, so that I have a bit of an edit history for myself. A rose by any other name... would taste as sweet (as long as it's a strawberry) Tubular bells (spring onions) Pillar of strength (spring onion)

OK, here is my new Aquarium, it is 6' long and 18" * 18". Thanks to a BYAP Forum member, I now have a stock of Tilapia in residence. I still need to locate another 3' tube for the aquarium lights, so a table lamp is sufficient for now. Edited to protect the innocent & guilty

There are times when I wonder what I am doing here. It can't all be eat, sleep, eat, sleep; there must be some purpose to it all. When I feel this way, it helps to find a safe, comfortable spot where I can just relax, unwind, and watch the fish go by. Damn, my shell itches: probably time to shed again. *sigh*

I hereby submit "Freakin' Cool Bug!" (so named by DD) to the AP photo competition. This guy was checking out the nice shiny clean gravel (which I'd spent hours cleaning) in one of the growbeds of my AP system (currently under construction).

Bluegill tried nesting. Teddy tried fishing. How can I resist a closer look? Ducklings with the one who hatched them. She was a bit of an odd duck. Not winning material, but I like to share pics... These are from a garden/pond system I made years back before thinking of aquaponics by name: it produced watercress, bluegills, and frog legs. I've tried a variety of pumps and have still not settled on the best combination of flow and power consumption. I wish I'd heard of you guys and this concept when I was trying solutions for the duckpond. Things grew in the barrels, but I needed far more filter and had no idea how much!

if its not to late i would like to put in a shot. there is a story behind it and the piece is called "ap gods". a couple of days ago i decided it was necessary to train my pumpkin vine's. i decided to train them straight up to the roof, then running across the top. i was out in the green house today doing the usual work. when i walked passed the growbed's i noticed an array of light pulsating from the tip of the pumpkin vine. i could almost see the plant grow before my eyes. it was a spiritual experience. it was like seeing the plant in its purest form. a voice in the back of my mind told me that this moment needed to be captured. sometimes shots take themselves. i didn't set out to photograph it. i guess its called inspiration. ap is holistic therapy for the body, mind and soul. a temple of good health.
