Front page of the local rag reads:

Water quality fear

Concern surrounds the death of hundreds of aquarium fish on Bribie Island in the past two weeks, with one aquarium losing between 600 and 700 fish.

But Caboolture Shire Council has denied high ammonia levels in its Bribie borefield was to blame. It says the island's town water supply contained no higher levels than usual

...should have told the bloke to get in touch with EB's supplier

Nice looking setup EB. Be interesting to see how many you get to install in a year. Could end up being a full-time occupation for you!
What type of tank is that 3000l one?? I am familiar with the small one (Rapid Plastics) but havent seen one like that bigger one before.
For those in the market for a new poly tank I heard today that the prices are set to increase by 5 -10% as of July 1.

Prices are going up fairly constantly for many poly products, we're pretty lucky over here in W.A. though, as it hasn't hit like over east.

the drought is really driving things, as my mate in the water dept says "one good cyclone and i'll be out of a job" still i'd rather see everyone have a tank if it meant poly prices went up a bit

The rebates up here are really driving prices up also. Brisbane City Council's rebates (I am not in BCC) end at the end of this fin year, as they have decided they are a duplication of what state is providing (many other councils have already pulled rebates), so demand right now is even higher than normal.

i thought the conditions have just changed now tanks have to plumbed into toilet etc to get rebate

Maybe so Beeso - I am not in BCC, had just heard that rebate was changing.

The prices of anything plasticy will be affected by the price of oil. I wish I'd brought my tanks a couple of years ago (along with everything else)

Yep - BCC rebate is if tank plumbed into house only, state rebate is for a tank
