I have seen throughout the forum people discussing using driftwood to buffer their PH down. Has anyone in Perth tried this? And where did you source it from? I imagine the Swan would be too salty to be of use in this situation.

Cheers.

Could you get some from the swan and soak it in fresh water for a few weeks?

A little salt won't affect your fish... in fact it's beneficial/desirable!

Speaking to one of environmental friends we have, they said that the upper swan would be fresher and closer to a neutral PH (no guarantee, best to test water for surety), than the larger expanses of the river.

 Might be time for a road trip.

If you pay the freight... I'll ship you as much driftwood as you want... anything from sticks to bloody trees...

It almost impossible to surf at the moment... there's so much bloody wood in the water...
