Software Development Project Manager (at least I used to be), doing time as an "Instructional Designer" building courseware in the telecom field. Also have been pursuing citrus horticulture to some extent for nearly a decade, but aquaponics has pretty much shoved that off my plate, interest-wise.

My non-agrarian pursuits/interests are in plasma physics and geology (and strangely, this is a joint interest and not two different pursuits), for which my ancient Cinematography degree (from way back when we used actual "film") has been no help whatsoever.

My own special irony when it comes to aquaponics is that while I'm just fine (and quite handy) with electronics and electrical wiring, I still pretty much dread dealing with plumbing.

EB.. the oil can guitars where a kind of African response to the introduction of the western guitar in southern Africa. The kids would make them and where usually very simple acoustic instruments strung with nylon fishing gut. Toys really. Probably a very similar thing evolved in america except there it was made from a cigar box. In both cases the instrument evolved into an electric instrument. Quite bizarre really. My oil can guitars mostly sell to tourists but some local act do use them. 'Freshly ground' one of out biggest music exports make use of one from time to time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGXit3XJ ... gEZpkyBxRG You can see a guitar I made being used at 4:22 in the video.

I'm in the process of becoming a personal trainer, with a view to pursuing physiotherapy/sports medicine. So if anyone's blown out their back hauling grow media, I can maybe be of some help.

Cool, I've asked in my system thread rather than cluttering up this thread.

This is fab!

I'm currently working as "English Teacher" to China Southern Airlines Flight Attendants. Basically allowing them to hear English, like wot she is spoke proper, and encouraging them to develop their English skills. Used to be a Process/QA engineer here in China for ten years but got made redundant last year. Was Theatre Technical director in Belgium for a couple of years and before that taught theatre technology in UK.

Was a hand papermaker for a few years but as I'm not a business man it all went a bit pearshaped and I lost the house! oops.

Have degree in Education, PgDip in Technical Authoring and did Mech Eng way back in the seventies (remember them?!!)

Speak a bit of Chinese and as I have to fly all over China to the China Southern bases I get three Saturdays a month free time so all the info here is for vicarious living!
