Those malaysian burrowing snails are the bane of the aquarium industry over here. They breed prolifically, don't keep the algae down and dig up your gravel. Plus they're like duckweed, once you get one in your system, a 100% waterchange is the only way to get them out.
I just emptied all my IBCs (consecutively, then refilled, I didn't dump any water) for cleaning, and found 8 of the buggers in there. I didn't know they could carry fluke, and so left them, thinking they'd be ok food for the SP later.
Oh, woe is me :-(
