Use all the other stuff you want... But it is this simple: peel a banana and bury it in the grow bed. It won't kill you, it won't kill the fish. If you want quicker break down, Throw the banana in a blender and the add to the grow bed. It will work. I have done it VB has done it and others have done it. no smell no muss no fuss.

Slicer, I see your point, but a quart of Dr. Earth costs about 10 bucks. I use 2 tablespoons every 2 weeks so the cost is minimal. my fish provide the majority of the nutes, I use Dr. Earth for the minerals and stuff.
