Also i said that Quinkin/scoria was $30 for 30L worth of it. Well i was mistaken, i bought 5 bags of it, costing $30, so 150L for $30. It is 6 dollars a bag. Great value

If understanding is had about the Planters 2, then a deeper study of the other links and info from the first link will show even more benefit than what Tom found, for the same reasons, and with even more benefit to the fish.

I found the best way to start tomatoes for the AP garden is to raise the seeds in a soil filled tube pot and when the seedling is about 6 inches tall, wash the soil from the roots and plant in the gravel. Remove the bottom two leaves and plant deep up to those first leaves. This will encourage more roots to develop. More roots = more tomatoes. You can also plant the seed directly in the gravel but I think it's slower to do it that way.
