Fish don't only crap in it the also *frack* in as well when it comes down to that.

It is rumored that humans also do this; sounds too much like a positive displacement pump to me. :drunken:

Any thoughts about the size/shape/position of the growbeds?
One big grow bed or several smaller?
Can they overhang the pool?
If I have a single big growbed and no sump the water level in the pool will rise and fall significantly. Is there anyway to continue to run the main pupm through the skimmer box wwhen the water level is low?

in order to put an dent in the water level on a flood cycle, you would need one heck of a growbed. I could only imagine that you would run out of space in the backyard before dropping the water level too far would be come an issue.

I have 5450ltrs of GB space and never notice a drop in water level. Using the skimmer box to pump out of may highlight the water levels movement if it does drop below it. You may want to lower the water level in the pool. It helps when cycling to be processing a smaller amount of water. And fish have a harder time trying to jump out.

GB size and position. Are you building or buying. Can make a difference on how pretty they look. :cyclopsani: I also like the cascading gb's. I pump to higher gbs and have them drain into a second gb on a lower level before water gets back to the pool. Saves on pumping.

I'm with them guys, the amount of water you have you would need the meanest GB ever to notice a big drop, if concerned uses the missuses part of the pool as a sump 8)
