Tank dosing seems to be the best way. As already said, a couple of capfulls into 800l should be fine, try a small piece of kelp and see what happens.

We are planning to plant the tomatoes on the weekend and see what happens with no extra suppliments. They are only babies so it should be interesting. We have plenty of seed so we are ready to go for round two if anything nasty happens.

Nothing nasty will happen, they just wont grow much, then they will turn yellow.

Then you'll add seasol or maxicrop

Sounds to me that anything that you can add to boost nutrients without killing the critters in the tank would work. Just have to be careful with worm tea (like my kelp tea) because its impossible to know exactly how much you're putting into the mix at any given time.

Right everyone? LOL

I have tried vermiculite last year and it works
but it is quite messy
Perlite is what I am testing now
suits me better (max size grains)

Worm tea is, and has been used.

I plan to put aside a grow bed specifically for supporting lots of worms, will put all plant scraps into it.

A lot of us have growbeds full of worms already

When adding anything to your system, moderation is the key.
