might do the test here too. 0.5ppm from the tap water is not so bad really, esp, when you do a % water change.

hell, it will help cycle a new tank :)

maybe i should make a new thread, cycling with tap water! LOL

I did that when I started my DWC system. All of the water that I changed that had ammonia in it went into another small aquarium to cycle it without fish.

I wonder if it would be possible to keep the water with ammonia in it in a container and use it later to cycle another tank?

Its certainly worthwhile knowing about, when I do top-ups, will do a bucket or two of tap water to give the duckweed a weekly treat.

10litres mixed in 300 should make a nice feast (0.017ppm) :lol:
