ibc's can sometimes be bought cheaply from the local fire brigade (foam is delivered in them, or drums) or from the local water treatment plant

We're getting a couple of ibc's from a mate at the water treatment plant. I'd be inclined to use a 100L water and the appropriate amount of beer line cleaner, soak each wall for a few hours, then rinse well.
Seal up the tank (top screw on cap and bottom tap) and roll it from wall to wall until they have all had a turn.

Yes if you look hard enough bargens are around got 6 more blue drums from the concrete plant today for a $12.70 slab of coke i am told tulla airport ibc/s are $50 when available they say there is a waiting list a mile long wonder why
took my drums to the tip to flush them out and got 1200 litres of water to bring home

Forgive my ignorance...but what is an ibc? Some other type of drum? :oops:

They are a square container used for bulk storage and transportation. They have a wire cage around them and a valve at the bottom.

That's exactly the "polyvinyl cube" I mentioned in my original post. I thought it would make a good tank, but the guy wanted $235 for it. :shock:

Now that I know what it is called I can search a little more!

Yep, thats definately new price..... Be aware that they will probably break down over time in the sun, so you may want to paint them or similar
