Hi Folks! Im glad I found this place! Ive been doing bunch of reading (for the past 5 years) and am finally ready to start my set up (thanks corona)

. I was hoping I could get some advice from you helpful experts before I start my dig...
My plans...
- 3 tanks of fish: (2) 275 G, (1) 125 G
- 3 Radial Filters
- 1 Sump Tank 275 G
- Bucket System
- NFT
- Flood and Drain
The Bucket, NFT, and Flood and Drain systems are about 574 G, 315 G with displacement.
Right now I have 3 rows: Tank to filter, to grow beds, to sump, back to tank. All three grow beds empty into the sump. I have 1 "very strong" pump (TBD) to pump back onto the 3 tanks...
My questions are...
- Is my sump placement ok? I've seen it where tank goes to filter to sump then splits into tank and beds... I know that I technically don't need a sump right now, but since we're completely tearing up the garden and building a greenhouse I thought I would put one in for possible future expansion...
- Any suggestions on what kind of pump would be powerful enough to pump back into the tanks?
- How big do I need to make my radial filter?
Attached is a shitty drawing of a top down layout. Sorry for th crudeness, my drawing program would only let me draw lines vertically or horizontally... The brown polygons are the tanks, green: beds, blue: filter, and red: sump.
Any suggestions are welcomed. Dont be too harsh...
And yeah, I didnt add a biomechanics filter, cause I thought thats the point of Aquaponics was to have the food filter for fish... but thoughts are welcome
Thanks in advance!
