I'm taking a car trip to Atlanta, GA and I figured I'd see what aquaponic stuff they had out there. I found three hydroponic stores to visit and since I have nothing like them where I live, I hope to pick up a few things, for the two aquaponic systems I'm building.

Have you ever been to any of these stores?

I'm hoping to pick up some LED lights, grow beds (for flood and drain) and maybe some expanded clay media.

Any suggestions on things to look out for while shopping? I'm excited!

Well, I went there and back, and not a single reply. Oh well . . .

But anyway . . .

I made it to the first two hydroponic stores mentioned in the links above.

First one was more geared to serious hydroponic growers and larger systems. Real friendly guy working there. Many of the customers seemed to be fond of weed (wearing clothing with Mary Jane leaves printed all over and such) go figure. lol The store had top of the line items, which were a little too costly for me at the moment, being this is my first aquaponic setup and all. The prices were higher than the 2nd place I visited too (even for the same items). They had free tomatoes, and peppers on the counter for people to munch on and they had free aloe leaves for people to take.

The second store was more for the "hobbyist" and those working their way into large systems. I bought some expanded clay from them (it was cheaper than the 1st place by about 6 or 7 bucks), growbeds and DL-single T5 lights. The guy working there was real nice and very helpful. They also had a pretty good selection of books.

Hope this is useful to someone visiting (or living in) Atlanta!
