I think to keep algae down and duckweed up you'd enter the duckweed water via a chamber of phosphate stripping plants. Can't see why you don't farm algae eating snails in there too most omnivores love the odd snail treat.

Mechanically a uv filter instead of phosphate feeders would definately solve the problem.

Dave, what software (name) did you use, the end result looks great!
The snails sound like a good idea too - my barra would love a few squished snails from time to time! :)

VectorWorks, it runs about $1000 for the base version. Our distributor in Australia (OzCad) is one of the best, and a great guy too. The NZ one is strong too.
