so... in your opinion, you do not need to do anything to a sand and cement mix to make it suitable for fish?

That is the way I see it KP

Ormonoid, a brushable bitumen compound is fine for potable water tanks after it has dried. Manufacturer recommends around 10 days for it to dry completely. Might be an easy way to seal your tanks Chelle. Here in Qld it costs approx $36 for a 4 Litre can. If it is safe for people, it should be safe for fish?
Cheers,

I've had a few drinks, so know this is inappropriate, and maybe even wrong, but what the hell?

$36.00 / 3sqm = $12/sqm doesn't it?

Stay OT! Would cider fermented in a ferrocement container become too alkaline? Should one apply some coating to the container before fermenting the cider?

damn the iPhone's lack of distinct keyboard, and my mild inebriation for not checking :-(
10 brews, well, the bottle of scotch is almost empty, does that count?
I think I recall some very nice wine at one point too...

Has anyone talked to Creative1? He has a large system the ponds of which are made of cement/concrete. He told me that with the three cement ponds his PH was high 6's/low 7s. Not sure if thats good or bad but sounded OK to me. Anyway check with him he may over remarks.

Do you mean the same Creative1 who said at the top of this page, that you don't need to seal concrete tanks? ;-) yah I think we've spoken with him about this before.
