It will be very interesting to see what they come up with for a cold climate backyard system. Now the location of the University is a much milder climate than most of Canada. I wonder if it would really be possible to have a system going year round in inland Canada without spending too much money on heating to keep the pipes from freezing and bursting.

They say its modeled after a Puerto Rican system. Poor choice of fish though.

Tilapia are hardy with regard to water quality, but hardly hardy in terms of Canadian water temperature.
