...Anyway, looking good. Seems that you have the basic idea down. So what are your plans for the next bigger system?

I have some 55 gallon plastic barrels and a 45 gallon rubber maid tub, and a long flat rubber tub, the kind that you slide under your bed. I will set up a system outside the house and as the crappie and perch get bigger I will move them to the larger tank. I will keep catching small perch in a minnow trap for this small system and move them up as I eat the big ones. As far as the plants for this system, I really want to grow lettuce, spinach and carrots in the small system in the window. I should be able to grow it year round and have fresh salad. I hope to any way.

As far as an even bigger system, I am looking for a deal on a tank. I may have to make one out of plywood...

Watch my system thread as I attempt to build a tank with pond liner and cattle panels. Will see how well it works.

FYI, my tomato plants are doing well. I washed all the soil off the roots and put them in the grow bed. I was affraid it would hurt the roots, but they seem to be thriving.

I will be keeping an eye on it. How much is the pond liner?
I wonder if you could line the inside with that very flexable plastic 4' x 8' sheeting they use for showers? Not sure what it is called, but it is as flexable as a rubberband!
