A fishing line should fit through the gap?

G''day people,
Just some notes on my 1000l IBC system;
*I cut the top off the tank at 200mm to make the growbed and filled with scoria (washed)
*This gave me a fish tank of 800l
*The water capacity of the growbed is approx. 35l
*This autosiphon system has beed operating since Jan 7th 2009( with much fiddling)
*We have 26 healthy silver perch who have grown Approx 15mm in that time
*We can't keep up with the growth of Bok Choy...The basil is endless and the tomato seems to grow about 20mmper day
