The coco coir that you used, was it in chunks or like a dust?

I'm actually running 2 pumps and have a timer that I'm not using. So I could easily leave one pump continuous while having the other on a timer. I've also got modified NFT that need to be continuous, so this would work well.

When I come to adding/changing growbeds, I'll incorporate more shells for extra drainage and PH buffering.

I'm guessing you gave up on it in the end. Is it expensive in Australia?

Not too pricey... just found that in my temperatures, it stayed to damp to run with anything other than perhaps a drip system...

You'll dry a lot more and quicker... so you'll probably get away with it...

I do use it in my hydroponic stuff.... and will be incorporating it in my strawberry towers and tomato trough....

Thanks all, esp TCL.

I agree on both sides of the knowledge tranfer isle. As a site grows larger it becomes almost an undaunting task to search through threads, analyze, derive, etc. when a well placed informational post could be created and all newbies (like me) can be directed that way.

Giving a newbie thread links are also good in that they give opinion and allow researchers to get the otherside, or various aspects of the topic, however maybe better as, "Additional Information" or "Other Opinions" placed beneath the main text.

I have encouraged my other team mates to get accounts also so hopefully they will have the benefit of your awesome and advanced wisdom on this area!
