Would it be very difficult to create a habitat for them inside of the fish tank? (or benifical)

I don't know if it would be beneficial but I seem to have wound up with lots of em when I put a paint strainer bag filled with gravel into the tank. They were safe from the fish in the bag of gravel.

I imagine if you could get them to take hold in the fish tank with just enough protect a small population and any excess over that threshold would be consumed by the fish. May be a nice way to get some extra protien. (but my knowledge of aquaponic systems is laughable @ best)

I opened up the bead filter that was on the system. It was jam packed with the worms! Problem is that they stick the beads together. I must love the organic solids in the filter. I guess their eggs got sucked up the pump and survived.
