Hi all, got my Internet stable again, so now I can putter. Now, my aquaponics system is outside the window of my office (the cabina in my photos if anyone is interested)

I thought an interesting discussion is taking your system from hobby to production. What I mean is this. During the initial phase, tinkering is pretty common, especially it seems with autosiphons. You also find out what you did wrong so you change things. After a while, you get down to your basic issues. For me, besides harvesting lots of veggies and fish, I have the following issues that if I could resolve, life would be good.

1) Roots in the plumbing. We run rebar through about once a week to keep the tubing clear. Now I am going to put drainage pipe around the out flow to create an air barrier - we will see how well it works.

2) Air locks in autosiphon. I almost have this worked out.

Neither is killer, but if I can cure them, life will be very sweet indeed.

What have you found that if you cured, your system would require less hand holding?

Sometimes a system that works very well without your help can get boring hehe ;)

(I do appreciate improvements though, I don't want things to remain bad just because I can get to meddle with it everyday)
