Hey guys... 2200 new posts... hummm this will take me some time
WAAAAY too busy atm. Steve is right, I just flew in from Sydney, and am flying out to Tassie tomorrow. then Back to Port Macq on Wednesday
I don't even have time now, but was notified of a personal message so logged on.
I have HUGE cucumbers, Great chillies, capsicums that seem to have stopped growing and Strawberries going wild but no flowers.
I'm worried about the chillies they're growing huge, but not colouring up.
Same with the strawberries not flowering...

Pumpkin has finally taken off, but the frost will get the pumpkins I fear :-( too late in the season. The one in the dirt already has pumpkins the size of Chloe's head....

Ummm that's about all. I'll check in when things calm down some.

I've been wondering: Why is that? What is so different about a "mature" system that enables the veggies to grow more prolifically?

Hi all - KP good to hear you weren't eaten by a goldfish. I myself am on a business trip to Florida - fleeing to warmer climates today.

A pasture reverting to forest will go through a lot of stages of animal, fungi, and plant colonization. I think that our systems go through something similar, but that's only a hypothesis.

to me mature system means that it mioght have a wide compliment of micro life many of which hydroP mentioned.

Also i believe it may have much more P and K available due to accumulation of solid wastes and the action of said beasties.
