I've finally got barrels cut, joined, piped, filled, emptied, filled, emptied and almost working, but not quite.

I've got a small (1000lph i think) pump in a sump (2 half barrels joined by 19mm poly) that pumps up to 3 half barrel grow beds through 13mm poly but the water doesn't run evenly into each bed. I just have a T piece at the first 2 and then an elbow at the last one.

I have loop siphons made from 18mm hose that drain ok, but its hard to tell until the inflow is sorted out.

Whats the best way to get the water pumping evenly into the grow beds? I've thought about making some kind of manifold but thought i'd ask for tips before i waste a morning and a heap of poly.

I'm also not sure if this pump is big enough, it's lifting about a metre or so and i think the max head was 1.8m or thereabouts.

Cheers

Use taps so that you can adjust flows.

Got the taps and now it's even, cheers. Unfortunately there's not enough flow for the syphons to kick in so I think I'll need another pump.

perhaps if u switch to standpipes the pump will be ok. Go see EB at the aquaponics shop and buy some from there , they are all set up, and pretty cheap.

Jonezy, look up Les' autosyphon maths (unless you're using a loop siphon)

he has all the sizes for appropriate flow rate.
